Boy rushed to hospital after firework hits him in face

Burnley CID are investigating after a 10-year-old boy was hit in the face with a firework last night (Friday).

The incident happened at an organised display held at the Railway Club in Rosegrove, Bunrley, at around 7-45pm.

It is believed the victim was stood behind a safety barrier with his family when he was hit by the firework, causing facial injuries.

He was rushed to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where he received surgery. Two other people, an adult and a child, sustained minor injuries.

Police officers have said that no fireworks were thrown and they are not suspecting negelect or a deliberate act.
