Calico Homes has so far invested £6m into the development – which has replaced a well-known eyesore in Padiham – with a mix of high-quality houses, bungalows and apartments all available for affordable rent.

The first phase of the new development began in 2018 and was welcomed by local residents who were keen to see the formerly derelict land put to good use, providing much-needed homes in the area.

Mark Beach, managing director at Calico Homes, said: “It’s very satisfying to see these new homes handed over to customers in time for Christmas.

"Calico is committed to providing good quality and affordable homes in our communities and, despite some initial delays due the pandemic, our teams have worked hard to catch up and ensure they are ready for families before the end of the year. We welcome our residents and wish them all the best in their new homes.”
