Historic Arbories Lodge in Padiham on market with guide price of £70,000
One of the East Lancashire’s most recognisable historic buildings is on the market.
Arbories Lodge is a Grade II Listed stone built lodge located in Padiham, which forms part of the historic entrance associated with the former Huntroyde Estate.
The building is believed to date from around 1800 and is recognised for its unusual and distinctive design, featuring stone-built construction, turreted corners, battlements and blind arrow loop detailing that give it a castle like appearance. The section currently being marketed is being offered as a total refurbishment opportunity and is for sale by private treaty with vacant possession.

A spokesman for the agent, John Pallister Chartered Surveyors said: “Arbories Lodge is an extremely unusual and characterful historic building. Opportunities to acquire listed properties of this nature rarely come to the market locally. Its distinctive architecture and heritage appeal make it a particularly interesting restoration opportunity.”
Access is currently on foot only from the A6068 and Woodlands Grove. With a guide price of £70,000 the property is freehold and has vacant possession.
The spokesman added: “The property offers potential for future uses, subject to the relevant planning and listed building consents.”
