Whalley pupils spreading hope and joy by painting rainbow pictures

Artistic children of Whalley Primary School have been using their time wisely during lockdown to brighten up George Street by painting colourful rainbows.

The owners of LUXE Occasion Wear, Kindle and Stove Co and Ronnan and Friend Property Assets Ltd kindly asked pupils who are having to attend the Church Lane school to paint rainbows and positive messages to the public so they could placed in their shop windows and brighten up the street whilst the village is in lockdown.

Whalley trader, Sean Ronnan, said “We wanted to come up with a way of brightening up the street with positive messages and a thank you to our great NHS staff and key workers in the community. So, with the fantastic help of the children, teachers and teaching assistants of Whalley Primary School, we made it happen! I think it looks great and I hope it has raised a few smiles on the faces of our local residents and valued customers. We are all looking forward to getting the shops back open when it is safe to do so, but remain open online.”
