Industry professionals have recognised a Pendle gym owner with a prestigous award.

Holly Lynch, who runs Empower HQ Ltd in Barrowford, was honoured at the Heart And Soul -Best of Fitness Awards in Aberdeen.

She was named as Fitness Industry Leader 2026 in the special award category that is selected by a panel of industry judges. It recognises someone who is making waves in the industry, building confidence in those around them and building platforms for others in the profession to flourish.

Holly said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award. It was truly special to be recognised for the work we do at Empower HQ, with our online fitness app Empower Training HQ and also organising the Lancashire Fitness Festival.

“The whole event is an annual one that looks to shine a light and find the people who are at the heart and soul of the fitness industry. “

Holly, who thanked her husband Endrit Shehu and also her support team, admitted she was ‘truly shocked’ when her name was announced and didn’t get the chance to say what came from the heart on the night.

She added: “I missed the opportunity to say be brave as success doesn’t come from doing the things we are confident and comfortable with. It comes from being brave in trying to achieve the things we are most passionate about.

“It isn’t about nailing it, or being the best, it’s about being brave in our choices and committing to ourselves in our journey.”
