Popular Trinity Travel Talks return for tenth series
Trinity Travel Talks are set to return to Clitheroe later this month with a journey through Amsterdam and the famous Dutch bulb fields.
The popular series, presented by Steuart and Anita Kellington, began in 2015 and will launch its tenth programme on Friday, September 25 at Trinity Methodist Church and Community Hub in Parson Lane.
The opening talk, Amsterdam and the Dutch Bulb Fields, will feature images from the Dutch capital, its canals and museums, as well as the colourful Keukenhof Gardens and surrounding bulb-growing areas.
The presentation will also make use of the church’s new high-resolution projector.

Steuart said: “Amsterdam is famous for its network of canals and for its museums. World famous is the Rijksmuseum, containing a wealth of paintings by Dutch masters, while a new gallery holds the world’s largest collection of paintings by Van Gogh.
“Probably equally well known are the huge bulb fields and the Keukenhof Gardens, with a vast array of flowering bulbs for several weeks in spring. Enjoy images of famous art and flowers in our talk.”
Anita said visiting the bulb fields had been something she had wanted to do for many years.
She said: “I very much enjoyed the famous Keukenhof Gardens. Our photograph shows one of the many displays of floral art in the gardens.
“On a nearby bulb farm, amongst thousands of flowering bulbs, we heard a commercial bulb farmer explain how they cultivate bulbs throughout the year and export them.”
The next Trinity Travel Talk, Menorca: Peaceful Jewel of the Mediterranean, will take place on Friday, October 30.
Admission is £5 on the door, including interval refreshments, with net proceeds going towards the further development of outreach activities at the Trinity Methodist Church Community Hub.
Brochures listing all five talks in the new series are available from Trinity Methodist Church, Clitheroe Library and the Platform Gallery.
