Burnley sandwich shop Peckish celebrates first birthday with Willy Wonka inspired 'golden tickets'
A celebration for customers, including gifts of bunches of flowers and Willy Wonka inspired ‘golden tickets’ with their orders, marked the first anniversary of a Burnley sandwich shop.
And of course, there was a birthday cake and balloons to mark the landmark day for Peckish in Rosegrove.
Owner Maria Perry, a former graphic designer, said: “We wanted this to be a celebration for the customers who have supported our business since we opened.

“Reaching our first birthday felt like such a huge milestone. When I decided to leave my career and open Peckish, there were so many ways it could have gone – and there have definitely been moments during the year when I wondered what on earth I was doing.
“But the support we’ve had has been incredible. We have customers who have been with us from the beginning, people who recommend us to their friends and family and familiar faces who walk through the door week after week. We wanted our birthday week to be a thank you to them, which is why we filled it with little surprises, gifts and some of the favourite specials from our first year.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and very excited to see what year two brings.”
