Burnley accountancy firm Azets appoints new director
An accountancy firm has appointed a new director at its Burnley office as it continues to expand its team.
Azets has appointed Sam Marshall as director of Accounts and Business Advisory Services (ABAS) at its office in Burnley.
Marshall will work with owner-managed businesses across East Lancashire, drawing on his previous experience advising businesses on accounting, compliance and wider commercial matters.
He said the new role offered an opportunity to build on his existing experience with businesses in the area.

“The office has a similar client base and covers the same area that I have experience in,” he said.
“There is a lot of cross-over with my previous work in the industry and this role gives me an opportunity to build something special.”
Marshall added that he had primarily worked with owner-managed businesses across a range of sizes and sectors.
The appointment takes the number of staff in Azets' Burnley accountancy team to 25.
Regional managing partner Noel Hankinson said Marshall brought experience and local connections to the office.
He said: “Sam has many connections and brings skill and experience to the Burnley office as well as a new perspective.
“Businesses have an increasing burden of red tape to deal with and for those smaller firms without internal expertise the advice we offer can be invaluable.
“With a Budget coming up it is important that businesses are as prepared as they can be for any tax changes.”
