Music Review: Deacon Blue 25th Anniversary Tour

On tour to celebrate Scottish band Deacon Blue’s 25th anniversary and the release of their latest album The Hipsters, Ross is joined by his wife Lorraine McIntosh, keyboard player James Prime and drummer Dougie Vipond.

And they know how to have fun! It might be a while since the band last toured, but they have not lost that spark. They were greeted by a packed audience in their adopted home city of Glasgow and didn’t disappoint.

A mix of Deacon Blue classics, from Real Gone Kid to You’re Everything to new songs including The Hipsters from the album of the same name, had the mixed aged group audience on their feet.

The band has class and Ross and McIntosh have such easy, soulful voices which blend so well together, not bad for a married couple! Two hours of great music, good easy interaction from Ross and the band and a finale of Forever Young had us all going home convincing ourselves we are still 21!
