A Burnley church is hosting a festive fundraising concert next week to help the homeless.

John Garrett and guests will come together for A song for Christmas on Friday, December 9th, at 7pm.

All proceeds will go towards providing a Christmas dinner and presents for homeless people, which will be organised by Father Roger and his team from St Catherine’s RC Church.

Also performing are Burnley Community Choir, Springfield School Choir, and pupils and staff from both Blessed Trinity in Burnley and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Blackburn.

John, who was classically trained by the late Patrick McGuigan RNCM (former teacher of Russell Watson), will be performing a mixture of seasonal and popular classics including the Christmas favourite O Holy Night.

John would like to thank Kathleen Birtwistle, Susan Plunkett, Fr Roger Parker and Daniel Nearney for supporting and helping to organise the concert.
