Summer school fun gives Burnley children a chance to shine

Children who will be starting at high school next month got a taste of what life will be like for them in their new surroundings.

Around 200 students, who are due to start at Burnley's Blessed Trinity RC College, spent a week at the school in Ormerod Road.

There was Maths and cookery skills and students tried science challenges as well as studying history, English, RE, music and sport.

Certificates were also handed to children for excellent behaviour, skills and commitment.
