Sophie fouls out of hammer final
Burnley's Sophie Hitchon has fouled out of the hammer final at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
The 2016 Olympic bronze medallist was fancied to improve on her bronze medal from the 2014 Commonwealths in Glasgow, but three foul throws saw her exit the competition in disappointing fashion.
A number of rival competitors also struggled with the cage in the competition, also suffering several foul throws, but the 26-year-old bowed out, and will now switch her focus to her main target of the year, the European Athletics Championships in Berlin in August.
