Burnley beat the weather at last!
Skipper Bob Walsh chose to field a very youthful side against a determined Chorley.
Both teams slugged it out for supremacy in the first half, and Mick Heyes, Howard Metcalfe and Paul Roden put in the hard yards which was later to reap its reward.

Hide AdDespite their efforts, Burnley couldn’t get over the visitors’ line until late in the half when a great try from scrum half Adam Spencer was converted by William Yip.
Chorley hit back, but just on the half, a mazy Tom Ives run increased the lead to 12-5.
The second half was all one-way traffic as Burnley’s forward effort had tired out Chorley.
Burnley opted to run everything, and Yip got a good try, converted by Ryan Bradley.

Hide AdBurnley’s young guns all looked lethal with the ball in hand, as first Tom Cooley, Luke Smith and Chris Baxendale all had good runs.
A penalty increased the lead before Ives crossed the line again.
The Burnley back row were chasing everything and supporting all the attacks, especially Holden Road favorite Dave Collinge.
Then in the move of the match, Bradley fed Collinge, who fed Bradley again to put Ives in for his hat-trick, converted by Bradley to give Burnley a 34-5 victory.

Burnley Under 14s lost out 30-0 to a well-drilled Bolton.
Bolton dominated from the start with early tries, and though Burnley tried to come back in the second half, Bolton did not allow the ball to be moved out from the set piece, with their hooker pouncing on any chances.
Jake Pope had a few good runs, but Burnley will now look to strengthen.
The Under 11s, however, enjoyed a 21-19 win over Aspull.
Burnley took the lead early on through Josh Moodie, who duly converted.

Hide AdA lapse of concentration in defence led to a try to Aspull, but, just before half-time, Edward Hanforth cut a line through the defence and scored in the corner, with Moodie adding the conversion.
Just after the restart several missed tackles led to a second Aspull try, but the conversion was missed.
A scything run, breaking several tackles, saw Harry Jackson-Smith score for Burnley, with another successful conversion by Moodie making the score 21-12 with only a few minutes left.
Aspull scored a late try but Burnley deserved the win, with Jackson-Smith named man of the match.
Burnley Tags beat Aspull 9-7.
Burnley seemed to have the advantage from the start with quick, agile runners defeating the Aspull defensive line.
