Pendle hockey star to represent England

Pendle Forest hockey starlet Olivia Bythell has been selected to represent one of three England teams at the Sainsbury’s Youth Games 2014 held in Manchester next month.

Over the course of the last year, the 17-year-old has been completing an Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence in Hockey - only offered to athletes who have the potential to represent their country.

Olivia spent last week on camp at Lilleshall with outstanding coaches, and this culminated with her selection for the Games, which take place between September 4-7th.

Olivia is representing the England White team, and will play against Wales and Ulster in the pool matches before playing in qualification matches to try and win the tournament.
