Burnley transfer news: Tottenham to eye Clarets favourite if Jose Mourinho makes loses key player to PSG

Despite Burney’s decent league position, there is still plenty of talk surrounding the summer window…

Indeed, Clarets favourite Ashley Westwood says the Clarets can take heart from their four-game unbeaten stretch in the Premier League as they prepare for a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Westwood said: “We wanted to go unbeaten. The main thing we said to ourselves before this week is not to get beaten by any of the teams.

“We started the week on fire against Palace and then dug in against Fulham.

“It was big for us not to lose against Fulham and it was big not to lose on Saturday.

“We’ve done that, all being the performance wasn’t what we wanted, and we move on."

In other news, former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher believes Burnley should have been awarded a penalty during the 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Gallagher, speaking on Sky Sports’ Ref Watch, agrees that the officials and VAR got it wrong.

He said: “I think it’s an error of judgment.

"I think they’ve looked at it too analytically, I think it’s a penalty – you put your arm out there.

"There are a few good clues, that when the ball bounces in front of Brownhill and Bartley, Bartley’s arms are actually by his side.

"He puts his arms out, whether he put his arms out because he’s trying to chest the ball, I don’t know, but he clearly puts his arms out, bounces up and strikes his arm."

But what about transfers? Here, we take you through the latest gossip from the Clarets and their Premier League rivals:
