Huge concert arena plan for Burnley

Burnley could be home to a major multi-million pound concert arena thanks to the drive and vision of a world-renowned local businessman.

Mark Crabtree, managing director of Oscar-winning sound deck company AMS Neve, is determined to put his home town on the musical map by transforming part of the Weavers’ Triangle.

The Express can reveal that Mr Crabtree’s plans are at a well-advanced stage and he has several high-profile backers already in place.

The ‘Locus Arena’ would play host to top international artists and could accommodate 3,000 people. The plan would create around 300 private sector jobs and it is estimated that it could bring in up to £54m. to the local economy in the next 10 years.

The £5m. project would be built on the site of Clock Tower Mill.
