Harry is hurt at Snetterton

And since the last round of the British Super Bikes Championship, local teenager Harry Hartley has moved on from Team Halsall Kawasaki to Tsingtao WK Kawasaki.

His former team stated they needed a rider of greater experience to help the team progress, replacing him with Jon Kirkham - whose place Hartley moved into at Tsingtao WK Kawasaki.

Ill fortune struck at Snetterton, and it seems to have stuck with Harry, as, getting used to his new machine in FP3 at Knockhill at the weekend, he had an off that left him injured.

After a visit to the track medical centre, Harry was deemed unfit to race, and was advised a visit to hospital was needed for a precautionary scan.

He is on the mend now, but this meant that he was unable to make his debut.

Hartley now has a fortnight to get fit as the next round takes place at Brands Hatch, the circuit where he made BsB history in April by becoming the youngest rider in the championship to score points.

On his move to Tsingtao WK Kawasaki, Hartley said: “I am really happy that the team have given me this opportunity and I need to thank everyone who has helped to make this possible.

“I am pleased that I have been able to stay with Kawasaki; it is a brilliant Superbike and one that I have some experience of and that will help me to move forward and keep progressing.

“I am looking forward to working with the team and it will be great to learn from them too. I have regrouped and ready to start afresh.”
