Mark wins 30th Lions race

The 30th Burnley Lions 10k Road Race in Colne – part of the Pendle and Burnley Grand Prix – was run on Friday evening.

Marc Hartley from Barlick Fell Runners came in first in 34 minutes 45 seconds, 26 seconds in front of stablemate Thomas Corrigan.

Jonny McKenna of Clayton Harriers was third in 35 minutes 30 seconds.

Amy McKechnie of Keighley and Craven AC was first lady in 40 minutes 11 seconds, with Melanie Hyder of Helm Hill finishing 26 seconds later.

Autumn Howard of Trawden AC came third in 42 minutes 51 seconds.

Other class winners by age category were U20 – Jordan McDonald and Hannah Newbold; LV35 – Lisa Parker; V40 – Kevin Slater and Kelly Whiteside: V45 – Andrew Stubbs and Nicola Nuttall; V50 – Ken Davis and Kath Brady; V55 – John Hartley and Irene Roache; V60 – Andrew Corbishley and Jean Rawlinson; V65 – Barry Mitchell and Jean Baistow; V70 – David Scott; V75 – Ted Orrell.
