Junior golfer tees up win

Golf Rossendale Driving Range & Academy is celebrating after one of its junior golfers scooped a top prize.

Oliver Holland, 12, is a member of the driving range’s elite development squad. The squad receives intensive coaching each week from PGA Pro Mike Bardi.

He beat off tough competition to win the Burnley Golf Club Junior Championship trophy.

Golf Rossendale’s PGA Pro Mike Bardi said: “Oliver did brilliantly to win this championship. He is a talented young golfer and has worked really hard over the past 12 months to develop his game.”

Golf Rossendale managing director Scott Grundy said: “Our development squad aims to nurture our most talented young golfers and help them get the most out of their game.

“We are really proud of Oliver and this win. It goes to show that practise and good coaching really does pay off.”
