Brandon sets new course record at Ghyll Golf Club in Barnoldswick
A long-standing member of Ghyll Golf Club has etched his name into the club's history books after setting a new course record on the recently redesigned layout.
Brandon Cocker (30) produced a remarkable round of 65 during the Kynaston Trophy competition on Sunday surpassing all previous scores recorded on the revamped course.
The impressive round featured five birdies and an eagle, helping Brandon achieve a score he admits he never thought possible.
A member of Ghyll Golf Club, Barnoldswick, for 16 years, Brandon has progressed through the club's junior ranks and has represented Ghyll's men's scratch team for the past decade.

Reflecting on his achievement, Brandon said: “I never thought I'd ever achieve that score, and I'm still stunned. Everything went right for me that day and it felt so special doing it on the course where I started playing off a 54 handicap and learnt so much.
“I am grateful for the support of my family and also members who provided coaching and transport to matches and trips away in the early days; I owe so much to Ghyll.”
