Frank is elected as new Seniors' captain at Clitheroe Golf Club

A total of 55 pairs turned out to compete in Saturday's Winter League Fourball Betterball at Clitheroe Golf Club last weekend, when Garreth Sutcliffe and Mark Hargreaves had a comfortable win, scoring 49 points to take the honours.

Runners-up were David Fearnley-Brown and Michael Heaps on 45 points. Club Captain Peter Hargreaves and partner Colin Mustoe were third on 44 points after a card play-off with Miles Corish and David Holmes.

On Sunday, Robert Driver returned the best score in a Winter League Singles competition with 38 points, two better than Robert Billington with Andrew Sloman third on 35points.

At the Seniors’ Section AGM, Frank Potter was elected as the Seniors’ captain for 2017/18 and the current Club Captain Peter Hargreaves was announced as the Captain Elect for 2018/19. Other officials re-elected were Ian Lambert (Secretary), Alan Clifford (Treasurer) and Paul Levet (Auditor). The meeting was followed by an 18 hole Fourball Betterball Stableford, the winners being Keith Allen and Nigel Woolley with 51 points.
