Young Clarets earn county success
Six Burnley FC Girls and Ladies players are celebrating, having helped Lancashire win the English Schools' Football Association Girls' Under 14s' PlayStation Inter-County Trophy.
Amy Edmondson, Cara Milne-Redhead and Millie Schofield were all part of the squad which faced Essex at Championship side Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s ground.
Three further Clarets players, Chloe Broughton, Jessica Greenwood and Grace Mills, travelled with the squad, having played their part in the wins against Shropshire, Durham and Hertfordshire that had seen Lancashire reach the final.
Milne-Redhead scored an injury time penalty to take the game into extra time, where Lancashire sealed a 3-2 win.
