Ward in action for Ireland
New signing Stephen Ward played the 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-0 win over Oman in Dublin on Wednesday night.
And in doing so, the former Wolves man became the 70th player to win full international honours as a Burnley player.
It was the left back’s 25th cap.
Ward will hope to add to his appearances on Sunday as Martin O’Neill’s side take on Georgia in their first Group D qualifier for Euro 2016.
Fellow Clarets left back Danny Lafferty is also on duty with Northern Ireland as they also play on Sunday, in Hungary, also in Euro 2016 qualifying.
