“He’s obviously going to be out for a period, but he’s generally in a good place.

“He’s a great lad, and he knows he more than played his part in what has been achieved.

“He is in good hands, and he will get good support.”

Vokes beat SkyBetChampionship Player of the Year to win the fans’ accolade at Turf Moor earlier this week, but with six players winning player of the year awards on the night, Dyche feels it shows how good a season Burnley have had.

“Even goal of the season is incredible - team goals, individual goals, there are so many to choose from, and so many good things encapsulate the season we have had.”

Dyche. who won back to back Manager of the Month awards earlier in the season, was delighted to be nominated again, but admitted: “I’ve always made it very clear it wouldn’t be possible without the staff and players.

“The nomination is in my name, but it’s on behalf of the group.
