The striker was absent for the Clarets’ 1-1 draw at Chelsea last Saturday with a stomach bug, an issue that affected a few members of Scott Parker’s squad.

Kyle Walker was forced off at half-time as a result, while Bashir Humphreys and Lesley Ugochukwu were also impacted.

But Foster has since returned to training and should be available for the visit of Keith Andrews’ Bees.

“Lyle's trained this week,” Parker confirmed, speaking during his pre-match press conference.

“He's back up to speed and had a good week's training, so we'll see how he is leading into the weekend and whether he's selected.”

Elsewhere, Burnley are unlikely to have anyone back from injury, with Jordan Beyer, Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts, Josh Cullen, Mike Tresor, Zeki Amdouni and Armando Broja all remaining sidelined.

Tuanzebe and Broja are thought to be the closest to returning, but neither of them are expected to feature in this week’s double header - which sees Burnley travel to Everton on Tuesday night following Saturday’s clash against Brentford.

“Axel is probably still a few weeks away,” Parker added. “He goes in for another injection, I think tomorrow, so he's a little bit away.

“Armando's probably on that same course. He's just coming out of the back of some injections, so he's just low level at the moment.

“He'll pick up his work, but he'll be a few weeks away as well.”
