A last-minute change of venue saw the Storks play at Fleetwood Town’s newly opened £8m Poolfoot Farm training ground at Thornton, instead of Blackpool’s own School Lane Ground which was unavailable, a change that saw the game take place on an excellent grass playing surface and produce a 3-0 victory for Steve Wilkes’ side.

A third-minute strike by Mark Young was enough to give Padiham a 1-0 half-time lead.

And goals from Kieron Pickup on 63 minutes and Sam Jones on 85 minutes sealed a 3-0 win.

Padiham are in action again tomorrow at West Lancashire League side Garstang in the annual Jag Cup match for charity, kick-off at 3 p.m. at the Riverside Ground.
