Sam strikes as Wales beat Iceland

Also on Wednesday night, Vokes’ strike partner Danny Ings was on international duty, coming off the bench on 67 minutes in front of the watching Dyche at Derby’s iPro Stadium against Wales.
Ings won his third cap as he replaced West Brom’s Saido Berahino as Gareth Southgate’s side won 1-0 with a goal from Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond.
Other Clarets on international duty included Cameron Howieson, who played the last 20 minutes as New Zealand lost 4-2 to Japan in Tokyo, while Danny Lafferty was an unused substitute as Northern Ireland drew 0-0 in Cyprus. Also in action for Northern Ireland were Burnley-born Oliver Norwood and former Clarets striker Martin Paterson.
Jay Rodriguez was an unused substitute for England at Wembley as Roy Hodgson’s side beat Denmark 1-0 with a goal from Daniel Sturridge.
