The Clarets scored twice in the first quarter of the game before holding on to all three points after Jonathan Walters had pulled a goal back for the hosts.

The victory was the first time the Clarets had recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League since beating Manchester United and Everton in the 2009/10 season.
