Padiham trailed 3-1 heading in to stoppage time at the Ruby Civil Arena but Dominic Craig and Spencer Jordan struck in an exhilarating finale to snatch a point in the Hallmark Security Premier Division fixture.
Jack Banister and Bradley Smart had given the Whites a two-goal advantage at the interval before Michael Morrison pulled a goal back for the hosts early in the second half. Kevin Pollard looked to have won it in the 77th minute but then all hell broke loose.
Pollard’s clearance cannoned back off Jordan to pave the way for Craig’s equaliser before Widnes substitute Andrew Gillespie had his effort cleared off the line by Ben Hoskin.
Padiham went straight down the other end from goalkeeper Dane Smith’s clearance where Jordan followed up once Bradley Ditch’s header had come back off the crossbar.
Commenting on the footage, filmed by Millbour Productions, Storks boss Liam Smith said: “It’s mad. We’ve had Soccer AM on wanting to use the footage, the BBC have been on to us, ITV, Eurosport France, the Guardian, Express, Oddsbible.
“Everyone wants a piece of it. It’s mental, my phone has been going crazy. I think the clip captures every genre of film.
“There’s horror, comedy, thriller, action. It’s the craziest minute of football that I’ve ever been involved in. I’ve never witnessed anything like it.
“I didn’t realise that the goals were that close together. I thought the footage had been clipped.
“There’s a bit of everything in there and I would love Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville to analyse it.
“Carragher has retweeted it and it’s started to go global. Any publicity is good publicitiy though. It’s good to get the clubs name out there.
“There’s people from all over the world commenting on it. We didn’t expect it to go this crazy. It’s great and it’s even better to be on the right side of it.
“It was entertaining to say the least. It sums up what we’ve got in the dressing room - that ‘never say die’ attitude.”
