During that time, Parker’s men have collected just two points out of a possible 33 – with their last victory coming 70 days ago at bottom side Wolves in October.

The saving grace for Parker in recent weeks has been that performances have largely remained pretty competitive, but that was certainly not the case at the Amex on Saturday where the Clarets were thoroughly outclassed.

After the game, Parker was asked if he believes he’s still the right man to lead Burnley forward.

"Of course, we're all frustrated at the moment, of course we are. But I'm fully committed and I feel like everyone at the football club is as well really.

“Last year was exactly the same. After 10 games, there was doubt. Am I the right guy? And there was one thing that was very consistent, that the people at this football club that make those decisions and the people in those places, I felt the utmost support from.

"We got through that rough period what we had last year, to go and be hugely successful and do what we did and I feel that's exactly the case now.

"So we're all hurt and we're all disappointed, but yeah we'll keep going.”

In addition to Parker’s comments, the Burnley Express understands Parker retains the full support from the club’s hierarchy and the board’s stance hasn’t changed despite Saturday’s defeat to Brighton.
