MP’s praise for Burnley FC in the Community
At the Conservative Party Conference, Mr Stephenson heard about the positive impact that the Football League Trust and the 72 clubs are having with community activities across the country.
Using the power of football to improve people’s lives, every year the Trust engages over 1.5 million through sport to improve health, inspire education, reduce crime, increase participation and tackle many complex social issues, such as drug abuse and homelessness.

Mr Stephenson said: “Local football clubs are pillars of communities up and down the country and I am grateful for the invaluable contribution Burnley FC makes to Pendle.”
l Mr Stephenson has asked Pendle people to show support for the blood transfusion service by registering as donors. His call comes after the NHS Blood and Transplant service revealed that only 1% of Pendle people gave blood.
Since the launch of the #BleedForEngland campaign, NHSBT has had an amazing response to the rallying cry to sign up 100,000 new blood donors by the end of the month.
