The former Manchester City youth player helped the Clarets record 19 clean sheets last term in the Championship, and that form has continued.

“We did it again,” he beamed. “We just need that bit of luck up front. We’re working well as a unit to stop conceding goals and we’re pleased with how we’re defending.

“Once it starts going in at the other end then we’ve got a good base to work from. We’re not conceding goals, we’re pleased with that, and we’ll definitely take positives from today’s game.”

Mee added: “We did well keeping clean sheets last year and I think we had the best record in the Championship last year. We’ve just brought the same structure from last year. It’s looking well so far and hopefully we can keep many more.”
