In his weekly predictions piece for BBC Sport, pundit and broadcaster Mark Lawrenson tipped Carlo Ancelotti's side to pick up a comfortable 2-0 win.

Explaining his choice, the ex-Liverpool star kept it short and sweet, claiming: “Everton's home form has not been great but this is a chance to change that.

“The Toffees can match Burnley physically and if they do the same with their work ethic then they should win because they have more quality in their side.”

Meanwhile, actor Frank Harper, Lawro's sparring partner for the week, went for a 3-1 Everton win, and contended: "Everton are a funny side, very up and down with results. They should beat Burnley though."

The last time the two sides faced each other, back in December, Robbie Brady gave the Clarets the lead after just three minutes, before Dominic Calvert-Llewin evened things up in first-half added time. Neither side was able to find a winner, in an entertaining clash that finished 1-1.

Speaking ahead of the game, Burnley boss Sean Dyche was quizzed on his views on VAR, and revealed: "I'm actually a fan of VAR, the streamlining and the way it's used can be affected in a more positive direction, but I'm a fan of the idea.
