Writing his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit and broadcaster Mark Lawrenson backed a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

Expanding on his pick, Lawro said: "Burnley went out of the FA Cup to Championship side Bournemouth on Tuesday, but they had made a lot of changes and I don't think they will be too bothered about that defeat.

"What matters most for the Clarets is staying in the Premier League, and they are at the start of a really important spell that could help them get closer to securing their safety.

"Picking up a point at Palace would be a decent start for them before they play a couple of the teams below them and, with the Eagles missing the injured Wilfried Zaha, it is definitely doable."

Meanwhile, Lawro's opponent for the week, singer-songwriter Mike Rosenberg aka Passenger, also opted for a 1-1 draw.

The last time the two sides met, back in November, Chris Wood's first-half goal saw the Clarets secure a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor.

Speaking to the Burnley Express ahead of the game, Sean Dyche backed his side to start scoring with more regularity, and explained: "I know that even since things picked up (and the side started winning games) we haven’t been what you could call 'free-scoring' – even in our world - but the other side of the coin is that we have been creating more quality chances.

"I’m not interested in forty yarders, but the number of genuine chances has been getting better."
