Writing in his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed a comfortable 2-0 win for the Clarets.

Justifying his prediction, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed: "It is all good news for Burnley at the moment. Off the pitch, the takeover of the club has gone through.

"On it, they are back to being Burnley - and that is a massive compliment.

"I've mentioned before how Fulham are improving too, especially defensively, but I think they will find it extremely difficult against the Clarets."

Meanwhile, Lawro's opponent for the midweek fixtures, The Farm front-man Peter Hooton, opted for goalless draw.

Last time the two sides met, back in 2019, Burnley came from a goal down to defeat the Cottagers at Turf Moor, with a Jeff Hendrick's deflected strike and a Denis Odoi own goal sealing the Clarets all three points.
