Mark Lawrenson makes SHOCK Burnley scoreline prediction ahead of Spurs clash

Burnley are back in Premier League action early next week, when they take on Jose Mourinho's Spurs in the Monday night kick-off.

Writing his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, Mark Lawrenson backed the Clarets to secure a shock 2-1 win against the north London side.

Justifying his pick, the former player claimed: "I still can't quite believe how Tottenham threw away a 3-0 lead against West Ham with less than 10 minutes remaining, and only picked up a point.

"That just showed how Spurs are still something of an enigma and, as dangerous as they are going forward, they are still vulnerable at the back."

He concluded: "I think Burnley can capitalise, if they take the game to Spurs. The Clarets are getting more and more players back from injury, and I'm backing them to get their first win of the season."

Meanwhile, Lawro's sparring partner for the week, Style Council drummer Steve White, went for a 2-1 Spurs victory.
