In his weekly predictions piece for BBC Sport, pundit and former footballer Mark Lawrenson backed Sean Dyche's side to secure their place in the fourth-round with a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Discussing his choice further, Lawro contended: "This is Burnley's first game under their new ownership so I am sure Clarets boss Sean Dyche will want to prove a point against MK Dons, and continue his side's recent revival.

The last time the two sides met, back in 2016, a dazzling display from the Clarets saw them hammer their opponents 5-0, with goals coming from the likes of Andre Gray, Joey Barton and George Boyd.

Last season, Burnley crashed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round, after slumping to a 2-1 home defeat to Norwich City.
