Mackay deserves second chance - Dyche
Dyche was Mackay’s assistant at Watford, but the Scot’s appointment at Wigan has caused controversy, with the former Cardiff chief under investigation by the FA into allegations he sent “sexist, racist and homophobic” text messages while in charge in South Wales.
Kick It Out have condemned Dave Whelan’s decision to replace Uwe Rosler with Mackay, but Dyche feels his old colleague, having lost his job at Cardiff and then the chance to take over at Crystal Palace, has already paid the price for his errors: “He’s made his situation clear and apologised, and now it’s time to move on.
“I don’t think he can be questioned forever about it, he’s held his hands up and he should be allowed to get on with it now.
“I wish him well.”
