‘Low life’ thieves put Colne FC derby match at risk
Colne FC have slammed ‘low lifes’ who used a hammer to damage their tea bar and bar at their XLCR ground last night.
Colne are due to play Nelson tonight in a huge local derby but, with glass on the pitch, they will make a decision at lunch time as to whether the NWCL Premier Division game will go ahead.
“It’s a real mess,” said committee member Dave Priestley. “We are devastated. They have used a hammer to get in through a window, there is glass everywhere - even on the pitch - and they have taken items, including the CCTV.
“The police have just left and we are asking for volunteers to come to the ground and help us clear the mess up.”
