Kevin McDonald extends Scunthorpe loan stay

Clarets’ midfield man Kevin McDonald has extended his loan spell at Scunthorpe United for a further month.

McDonald made a goal-scoring debut as he started his first game for the Iron in their 4-2 home defeat to Championship leaders Cardiff City last Saturday.

The Scot, whose first couple of weeks at Scunthorpe were disrupted by a back injury, returned to train with the Clarets on Monday morning.

And following talks with Burnley boss Brian Laws, the 22-year-old agreed to a second month at Glanford Park.

McDonald’s extended loan deal follows a similar move for Wes Fletcher at Stockport County after the 19-year-old agreed to a second month with the League Two side.
