Keane starts for England

Michael Keane will shortly become the first Burnley player to start an England international in 43 years.

The 24-year-old starts for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions as one of three centre backs at Signal Iduna Park, home of Borussia Dortmund, against world champions Germany.And in doing so, he is the first Claret to play from the opening whistle for England since Martin Dobson against Portugal on April 3rd, 1974.Skipper Tom Heaton, who ended Burnley's search for a senior England international last May, is on the bench.If Heaton makes it onto the pitch alongside Keane, they will be the first pair of Burnley players to play in the same England side since John Connelly and Ray Pointer in 1961.
