Jimmy Adamson - a footballing life in pictures

THE memory of Jimmy Adamson, hailed as “one of Burnley’s greatest-ever players” and who died this morning aged 82, will live on at his beloved Turf Moor.

Jimmy, captain of the 1959/60 Championship-winning team, played over 400 times for Burnley in his one-club career and went on to coach and manage the club in a career spanning 29 years at Turf Moor from 1947 to 1976.

A lounge at Turf Moor was named after him earlier this year.
