The Blackburn Rovers Academy midfielder has impressed the Welsh scouts and has been invited to a Wales Under 12s training camp later this month.

But the 12-year-old also competed for Blackburn Rovers Under 12s as they won the Premier League Truce Tournament and Rovers now go to Belgium to represent England at the same time.

The young Rovers will join Manchester City, West Ham and Crystal Palace, along with European giants Paris Saint-Germain, Schalke 04, Club Brugge and Anderlecht at Ypres.

“I will go to Belgium although I am gutted to miss the Welsh camp,” said James. “I qualify for Wales through my mum and I am honoured to get a call-up.

“The Truce Tournament, which was on Remembrance Sunday, is important though and we finished top of the group in the north and it’s a great chance to go abroad and play against other countries. Hopefully I will get another chance to go on to train with Wales.”
