Is this Burnley's greatest ever XI to have featured in the Championship?
Vincent Kompany’s side are three points clear at the top of the table as the season closes in on the halfway point and the league leaders will look to protect their advantage when they resume against QPR at Loftus Road.
The Clarets have won promotion to the Premier League in many ways, shapes and forms; coming out on top in a play-off final at Wembley under Owen Coyle in 2009 and going up as both runners up (2014) and as champions (2016) during Sean Dyche’s tenure.
Many players have contributed along the way. Some have kept clean sheets, others have scored goals, there have been matching-winning performances, game-changing interventions, last-ditch tackles and last-minute winners.
There are those individuals who have made a significant difference in a short space of time and there are those players who have built their legacy over longer spells at the club.
Settling on an XI was a real challenge, but here’s what we’ve come up with, based on a 3-4-3 formation.
