The Clarets, who were forced in to three changes from the 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa, were denied an opener as VAR intervened to chalk off Jeff Hendrick's header. The hosts took the lead from the spot when Matt Lowton upended Willian before Abraham doubled the lead before the break. Hudson-Odoi completed the scoring early in the second half from Cesar Azpilicueta's cross.
5. Ben Mee 5
Deserved an assist as VAR looked inconclusive when chalking off Hendrick's finish and went close to scoring his first goal of the season as Barkley hacked his header off the line. Had a tough afternoon at the heart of the defence.
6. Aaron Lennon 5
Put in a shift down the right hand side in support of Lowton, tightening up on Willian whenever possible, and ran at Azpilicueta whenever the opportunity arose. Often moved infield as he looked to open things up for the Clarets.
7. Dwight McNeil 5
Tidy on the ball and Sean Dyche's side were once again reliant on the youngster for his creativity. Tested Kepa with a smart free kick in the first half. However, switched off at the back post when Hudson-Odoi made it 3-0 early in the second half.
8. Ashley Westwood 5
Couldn't really get a foothold in the game as Chelsea broke the lines with ease. Worked hard, which is a pre-requisite for the midfielder, but picked up a yellow card for a foul on Mount in the second half.
