Wilfried Zaha beat goalkeeper Nick Pope at his near post to give the visitors the lead in first half stoppage time before substitute Jeffrey Schlupp punished skipper Ben Mee's mistake in the 78th minute. Here's how we scored the players' performances.
9. Dwight McNeil 6
Kelly couldn't get close to the just turned 20-year-old, who whipped in a number of teasing crosses. The winger was denied by Guaita in both halves with the second of those stinging the goalkeeper's palms.
10. Ashley Barnes 5
Got very little change out of Tomkins or Dann as the central defensive pair cleaned up. Had a good chance to score in the first half only for a poor touch to let him down. Was eventually replaced by Rodriguez.
11. Chris Wood 5
Had the best chance of the game to draw the Clarets level but, from Kouyate's misplaced header, the New Zealander somehow failed to hit the target from six yards out. The striker then saw a header cleared off the line by McArthur and another well saved by Guaita.
12. Erik Pieters 5
Had a steady enough game after replacing the injured Taylor. Stood up to Schlupp well and slammed a shot in to the side-netting early in the second half as the Clarets sought an equaliser.
