Sean Dyche's side have mustered just three shots on target in four Premier League games and they already trailed Villa by two goals when registering their first of 2020. Wesley and Jack Grealish were on the scoresheet for the visitors before Chris Wood responded. Here's how the players rated...
5. Ben Mee 5
Unnecessarily dragged out of position for Villa's first, leaving goalscorer Wesley unmarked. Possibly too desperate to get out to the ball for away side's second too, leaving defence exposed.
6. Robbie Brady 4
Failed to capitalise having been given the nod by Dyche. Didn't get in to the game at any point, offered Taylor very little protection and his distribution was frustratingly poor.
7. Ashley Westwood 5
Not his usual self in the middle of the park, showing a reluctance to challenge for the loose balls and caught in possession. Gave the ball away poorly to Grealish in the first half, but claimed an assist.
8. Jack Cork 4
Plenty of running, but didn't have the calming influence Burnley were crying out for in the middle of the park. Conceded possession cheaply to Trezeguet in lead up to Villa's second goal.
