It’s just not the same

Burnley’s first home game of the Premier League season is just 30 minutes away and Turf Moor is quiet, it just doesn’t feel right.

Chris Boden’s team news

Has Nick Pope suffered a cut to his hand?

Our photographer at the game has just taken this snap of the Clarets number one with a noticeable cut on his thumb, hopefully it’s something and nothing.

Southampton, lucky side?

Burnley and Southampton make their way out, Burnley in claret and blue with Southampton in their white away kit with a red sash.

Thankfully Nick Pope appears to have recovered from the cut to his hand suffered in the warm up.

We’re underway at Turf Moor, Southampton get us started.

Just four minutes on the clock and the visitors are ahead.  Che Adams advances into the box and towards Nick Pope, he cuts it back to Ings who smashes home first time, not the start the Clarets would have wanted.
