How England could look at the Euros this summer if Super League restrictions are imposed

News of a breakaway European Super League has shook the sporting world with football fans across the continent impacted by the tremors.

Six English clubs - Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs - have linked up with six European clubs - three from Spain (Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid) and three from Italy (AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus) - to create a rival competition to the Champions League.

Reports are suggesting that the current 12 founding clubs have signed a 23-year commitment to the new 'European Super League', which will begin "as soon as practicable" to eventually feature 20 teams.

However, involvement in the competition could have damning repercussions for players representing the aforementioned clubs on the international scene.

UEFA president Aleksande Ceferin said: “The players that will play in the Super League will be banned from playing in the World Cup and Euros. They will not be allowed to play for their national teams."

And, as a result, statisticians and analysts at WhoScored have had a look at how that could impact Gareth Southgate's selection process for the Three Lions during the European Championships.

This is England' s best-rated XI - playing in a 4-3-3 formation - should restrictions be enforced by the relevant governing bodies.
