Burnley step up their preparations for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign with a friendly against Belgian side KRC Genk this evening.

The game, which will be played at Genk’s Cegeka Arena, is the first of Burnley’s summer friendlies to be open to the public.

Not a great deal going on at the minute, other than the Burnley fans serenading James Trafford and asking for a wave. He finally obliges on what felt like the 20th time of asking.

Genk have threatened to add a second in the last 10 minutes or so and they’ve got it through sub Arokodare Tolu, who directs a header beyond James Trafford and into the far corner.

They’ve deserved that for the way they’ve played this half, to be fair.
